The first part of the experience was very positive. AGS business development manager [name removed by Sirelo] is professional, efficient and punctual. The first day of packing the packers team leader [name removed by Sirelo] left one of our empty bookcases in the middle of the hall with all 4 doors open (solid wood and glass doors, the top ones are 3 times the length of the base of the bookcase) and walked away to get packing material to wrap it, leaving it unattended and not leaning on anything. As it is to be expected according to the centre of gravity laws, the bookcase became unbalanced, because the weight of the open doors suddenly shifted its centre of gravity, and fell on the floor. Several doors were damaged, even the frame of the bookcase and one of the glass panels came off and was chipped. I reported the incident to [name removed by Sirelo] and he said he needed to discuss the matter with his boss. Only after 4 days I finally heard from [name removed by Sirelo], who stated
in his email that they could not do much as the bookcase fell on its own. I went to their office to meet [name removed by Sirelo] their general manager, and after a lengthy discussion I finally was offered the option of an insurance claim or of sharing repairs costs at 50%. I chose the insurance claim and we will see how it goes. I was disappointed with their attempt to deny any responsibility for what happened, I hope that their handling of the claim will not be a bigger disappointment.Read more
